Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Understanding of nursing and medical standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with treatments ordered by the primary care provider, under supervision.
• Greet and assist patients at the Front Desk with appointments, insurance, and related issues.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record data in charts.
• Perform basic clerical duties and maintain patient records in an orderly manner.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain medical equipment in a clean, orderly state.
• Document health provider orders, referrals, and administrative duties in the EMR system.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments and contact patients about missed visits.
• Verify patient insurance at service time and educate patients on the patient portal.
