Job summary

Ascension DePaul Services seeks a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under a primary care provider or Nurse Practitioner, and to assist with examinations, treatment, and front-desk duties in our clinics. The role requires completing an accredited MA program, current BLS certification, and strong communication skills.

You will maintain medical records, assist with labs, prepare treatment rooms, and uphold privacy and safety standards in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Course.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or certification within 90 days of employment.
• Understanding of accepted nursing and medical standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by the primary care provider under supervision.
• Assists patients at the front desk with appointments, insurance, and related issues.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in charts.
• Performs select clinical duties including patient services and basic lab procedures.
• Maintains patient records in an orderly manner and reports abnormal results to the provider.
