Job summary

Jefferson University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient assessments, examinations, and treatments. You will manage patient flow, perform and document vital signs, and assist with EKGs, venipuncture, and injections as part of routine office care.

Ideal candidates have HS diploma, MA certification within 6 months, and familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures. BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• NJ: accredited program with 330 hours including injections training.
• For Einstein applicants: MA certification not required if employee hired before 7/1/2024.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and staff per Jefferson values.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs and medical history information.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures (EKG, venipuncture/injections).
• Maintains HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to support smooth office operations.
