Jefferson University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient assessments, examinations, and treatments at our Philadelphia offices. The role includes patient flow management, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, vital signs, and maintaining medical records with a strong emphasis on privacy and accuracy.

Qualifications include HS Diploma, Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire (Red Cross acceptable at some PA locations).
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ only: 330 hours program including injections.
• For Einstein internal applicants only: MA certification not required if transfer prior to 7/1/2024.

Responsabilités

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Maintains proficiency with information technology systems within scope of practice.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures; may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and smooth operations.
