Job summary

Jefferson University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient assessment, examinations, and treatment. The role includes managing patient flow, performing vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and EKGs in the office environment.

The position requires HS Diploma and Medical Assistant certification within 6 months. BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days; experience in a physician office is preferred and adherence to HIPAA is essential.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Remains proficient in IT systems within scope of practice.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures including EKGs and venipuncture.
