Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for the Cancer Center in Highland Park, IL. This full-time role supports the physician practice with front desk duties, patient check-in/out, scheduling, and basic clinical tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting payments, verifying insurances, and assisting with vitals; phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; graduation from an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• One year of work experience is required; prior medical office experience is preferred; on-the-job training is provided for those without MA training.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments

• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
