Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in patient care at Riverhead. Responsibilities include obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, and ensuring rooms are prepared and stocked for patient visits.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma and MA training or experience; strong communication and computer skills are required. BLS/MA certs preferred; EPIC Ambulatory knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; MA program graduate or 2 years MA experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• BLS and MA certification preferred; EPIC Ambulatory knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and nurses in patient care.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKG; assists with blood collection as needed.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms; assists patients with needs.
• Ensures chart is available with lab tests and reports for physician.
• Assists with training of new Medical Assistants; performs administrative tasks as needed.
• Stocks exam/treatment rooms with medical supplies and forms.
