Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certificate from a Medical Assistant training program or 1-3 years experience as MA/EMT/CNA with certificate.
• Successful completion of Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight and screenings; documents findings.
• Collects and assists with specimen collection per standard procedures.
• Performs daily controls and calibration of lab equipment; reports inaccuracies.
• Conducts electrocardiograms and phlebotomy per provider orders; adheres to infection control standards.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations per protocols.
• Maintains cleanliness and stock in examination rooms; checks logs and supplies.
• Pre-visit chart preparation: ensure lab results and documentation are ready for review.
• Performs clerical tasks (filing, insurance forms, financial records, phones) for smooth patient flow.
• All responsibilities are considered essential functions per the ADA.
