Job summary

Penn Medicine in Cherry Hill, NJ seeks a Medical Assistant to support the CPUP Obstetrics and Gynecology practice. The MA assists in patient care, prepares patients, and documents in the EMR to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required; completion of Penn Medicine approved MA program preferred.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Or 18+ months experience as an MA may be considered in lieu of MA program completion.
• Or 1+ year working as a Clinical Support Representative may be considered in lieu of MA program completion.

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients and uses EMR to alert the provider that the patient is ready.
• Reviews patient history, allergies, meds; updates EMR accordingly.
• Specimen management including phlebotomy and handling for testing.
• Performs EKGs and outpatient screening tests as ordered by MD.
• Assists with minor procedures, maintains sterile field and supports patient safety.
