Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN program; certification/registration within 120 days.
• Typing skills with computer background.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to assume more responsibility.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 codes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review patient info and document vital medical data.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Interpret and implement provider orders.
• Document clinical test results.
• Obtain lab specimens and process them.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Schedule follow-ups and referrals.
• Sterilize instruments and perform proficiency testing.
• Maintain diagnostic equipment and report malfunctions.
• Handle medication samples.
