Job summary

The University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties in an ambulatory setting. You will ensure all reports are ready prior to appointments, escort patients, and assist during examinations.

The ideal candidate has a high school degree, current certification as a Medical Assistant, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in a medical setting is preferred. This role includes working weekends and is essential in supporting patient care.

Qualifications

• High school degree (or GED) required.
• Current Certification as Medical Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required by 3/1/2025.
• Previous experience as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with the medical team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all relevant reports and correspondence are available prior to the patient’s appointment.
• Escorts patients to exam room and measures vital signs.
• Assists physician during examination or procedure.
• Administers medications under supervision.
• Cleans rooms between patient visits in accordance with standards.
