Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES or CAAHEP accredited medical assistant program.
• Post-secondary program with regional or national accreditation.
• Graduates from programs accredited by NCCA/NHA or equivalent are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specific need.
• Assists in examination, treatment and other clinic procedures.
• Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects.
• Answers telephone and triages or directs callers as needed.
• Schedules appointments and enters appointment date/time into scheduler.
• Conducts reminder calls to patients.
• Greet and direct patients, salespeople, and visitors.
• Registers patients and verifies records are up to date.
• Makes changes in computer system and on patient charts.
• Coordinates referrals through insurance and other physician offices.
• Collects payments and issues receipts.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts.
• Maintains and orders supplies.

Education

ABHES/CAAHEP accredited Medical Assistant program
