Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient preparation, assist with examinations, collect data, and coordinate referrals in a multi-clinic system in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

The role requires ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited training with CPR/BLS certification within 90 days and clinical rotation experience preferred. Competitive benefits and opportunities for career advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES/CAAHEP or equivalent accrediting body; clinical rotation preferred.

Responsabilités

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specific need.
• Assists in examination, treatment and clinic procedures.
• Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects.
• Answers telephone and triages or directs calls.
• Schedules appointments and enters data into scheduler.
• Conducts reminder calls to patients.
• Registers patients and maintains up-to-date records.
• Coordinates referrals through insurance/physician offices.
• Collects payments and issues receipts.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts; orders supplies.

Formation

ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assistant program OR regionally/nationally accredited program with clinical rotations
