Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses, ensure smooth patient flow, and perform clinical and administrative tasks. The role emphasizes patient interaction, accuracy in documentation, and adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.

The MA will assist with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations), manage exam rooms, and participate in team meetings while pursuing required certifications and BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within six months, obtain CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA or related certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required within six months of hire.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred; strong computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient patient flow by escorting patients, obtaining vitals, and updating records.
• Assist providers with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure clean, safe clinical areas.
