Job summary

Kansas Health System in Olathe is seeking a Medical Assistant to help ensure efficient patient flow, prepare patients for visits, and support physicians, nurses and staff in a busy clinical setting.

Candidates must be a High School Graduate with MA certification (CCMA or NRCMA) or graduate of an accredited MA program, and BLS eligible within 14 days. Duties include scheduling tests, recording patient information, processing prescriptions, and keeping exam rooms stocked and orderly.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ year Medical Assistant experience or graduate of an accredited MA program.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA or NRCMA) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules tests; prepares specimens and reports per policy.
• Assists physicians and/or nurses with procedures as defined by competency checklist.
• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care and record patient history elements.
• Electronically submits prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies.
• Maintains medical records and ensures required documentation is available.
• Maintains clean, stocked examination rooms and completes required equipment checks.
• Greet patients, register, schedule, pre-certify tests, and process ambulatory care charges.
