Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for the Olathe Medical Pavilion A in Kansas. You will support patient flow, prepare exam rooms, and assist clinicians with procedures while maintaining accurate patient records and delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements include a High School diploma, 1+ year MA experience or MA program completion, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA or NRCMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Schedule tests, obtain films/reports, and prepare lab specimens as required.
• Assist physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations.
• Record patient history elements for clinical staff review.
• Submit prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies.
• Maintain and document electronic medical records.
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked; check equipment logs.
• Perform clerical duties including greeting patients, scheduling, and billing tasks.
• Record vital signs and basic measurements.
• Comply with department competencies and policies.
