Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Olathe Medical Pavilion. This role supports efficient patient flow by preparing patients, assisting with examinations, scheduling tests, documenting in medical records, and coordinating care with the care team.

Required education includes a High School diploma and either medical assistant program completion or MA certification (CCMA/NRCMA). BLS certification is preferred and full-time status is offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures per competency checklist.
• Coordinates and documents patient care with the health care team.
• Submits prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies per policy.
• Maintains medical records and manages related forms and reports.
• Maintains exam rooms and ensures supplies are stocked and logs are current.
• Greet patients, register, schedule, pre-certify tests, and process ambulatory care charges.
• Performs vital signs and basic clinical measurements as directed.
