Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant or practical nursing training program with clinical practicum hours; OR Medical Assistant certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from recognized authority.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow.
• Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and observe/report patient responses.
• Assist with procedures and collect patient history including medications and allergies.
• Provide patient care as directed and document in the EMR; communicate with patient/family.
• Answer calls and messages, relay information between patient and provider.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing and scheduling; manage lab specimens per guidelines.
