Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Schedule tests, obtain films/reports, and prepare specimens according to policy.
• Assist physicians and/or nurses with procedures as defined on the competency checklist.
• Coordinate patient care plans with the health care team and record patient history elements.
• Submit prescriptions/refills electronically to outpatient pharmacies.
• Maintain medical records and ensure documentation is available in the medical record.
• Keep examination rooms clean and stocked; manage logs and equipment checks.
• Perform clerical duties: greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification, insurance forms, and billing tasks.
• Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and document in the medical record.
• Perform simple procedures as directed by the nurse or physician.
