Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the guidance of the healthcare team. You will prepare patients, document vital signs and histories, and assist with screening and medication administration.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, with CPR certification and ability to work across clinics. A sign-on bonus is available for external hires.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire; accepted certifications include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.
• CPR – American Heart Association is required; background checks per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtain patient vital signs, document patient information, history, tobacco and medication screening.
• Administer and document medications per policy and safe practice.
• Documents in the EHR according to standards; perform clerical functions as assigned.
• May float between physician office locations as needed.
