Responsibilities

• Provide patient advocacy during exams and treatments
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination rooms and physician procedures
• Record medical histories, medications, allergies, vitals and test results
• Obtain informed consent prior to treatments
• Assist in administering medications per physician guidance
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Explain treatments, medications, and care instructions to patients
• Assist physicians with procedures, injections, sutures, and instrument handling
• Manage prescription refills under provider direction
• Maintain clean and stocked treatment rooms and sterile fields
• Assist during surgical procedures while maintaining sterility
• Monitor patient condition and notify clinician of distress
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and biohazards
• Schedule appointments and coordinate tests/admissions
• Change wound dressings and greet patients at arrival
• Order and inventory medical supplies and equipment
• Perform routine laboratory tests and document procedures promptly
• Respond to emergencies according to policies and protocol
• Support physicians during medical emergencies and maintain documentation
• Manage emergency supplies and equipment maintenance
• Adhere to policies and promote high-quality patient service
• Perform other duties as needed
