Job summary

Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, part of FMOL Health, seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment, take vital signs, collect specimens, and document chart history.

The role coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments and tests, triages calls, and assists with regulatory compliance under supervision.

Candidates should have completed a medical assistant program or have 1 year clinical experience, be computer literate with EHR and Microsoft Outlook.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year experience in a clinical capacity.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literate; skilled in use of Microsoft Outlook, electronic health records and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, obtains vital signs and records information on charts.
• Assists with examinations, treatments and minor procedures under physician supervision.
• Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, tests and referrals.
• Triages calls and may call in non-narcotic prescriptions as directed.
• Supports regulatory and compliance needs and HIPAA requirements.
• Prepares and maintains exam rooms and assists with specimen handling.
