Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year in a clinical capacity.
• Proficiency with basic office and clinical software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient by requesting name and DOB before interactions.
• Ensure confidentiality of PHI per HIPAA regulations.
• Document visit notes including chief complaint, PMH, allergies, medications, and vitals.
• Administer and document waived testing under physician supervision.
• Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms and maintain supplies.
• Prepare and administer medications per orders and policies.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and specimen handling.
• Coordinate patient flow to improve physician efficiency.
• Instruct patients/families on procedures, meds, nutrition and wellness.
• Retrieve and transmit patient information per policy.
• Notify patients of test results and changes within 48 hours.
• Call in prescriptions to appropriate pharmacy.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing with other providers.
• Respond to questions and concerns from patients and families.
• Adhere to compliance, safety, infection control standards.
