Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire, through ARC or AHA.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient records prior to visits and coordinates with the provider.
• Pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days before appointment; messaging Care Team when warranted.
• Prepares patients for examination: measures vitals, updates meds and allergies, records history and smoking status.
• Cleans exam rooms, maintains supplies, and handles disposal of waste per protocol.
• Assists with patient education on chronic conditions and coordinates with care team for labs or visits.
• Participates in department meetings and quality improvement efforts.
• Disposes of bio-hazardous waste and maintains vaccine temperature logs and inventory.
• Performs admin tasks such as check-in/out and opening/closing procedures.
