Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, MA, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in exams and treatments, manage patient flow, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and document vitals.

You will liaise with physicians to ensure patient satisfaction, help with supplies, and adhere to HIPAA and IT system documentation. HS diploma required; Medical Assistant certification within 6 months; BLS within 90 days; healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; some locations may accept Red Cross BLS.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
• For NJ locations: Graduate of accredited program with 330 hours including injections; Einstein exception may apply for internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Manage patient flow and ensure smooth operations in the office.
• Document vital signs and medical history information; maintain IT system documentation.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and support daily operations.
• Liaise with physicians to ensure patient satisfaction and HIPAA compliance.
