Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• BLS through American Red Cross may be acceptable at some PA locations.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
• NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited program with 330 hours of instruction including injections.
• Einstein internal applicants: MA certification not required if transferring within Einstein entities before 7/1/2024.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper patient identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, medical history and clinical care quality measures.
• Assists physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures, including EKG/venipuncture when required.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth operations.
