Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians during examinations and treatments. The role includes patient transport, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and managing patient flow in the office setting.

Prospective candidates should have a HS diploma, MA certification within 6 months, and BLS certification within 90 days. Experience in a medical office is preferred, with additional NJ requirements noted for certain locations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in physician office or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Assists physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG/venipuncture.
• Performs and documents vital signs, medical history information, and adheres to HIPAA requirements.
