Job summary

Jefferson Health's Abington Memorial Hospital in Wyncote, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and patient care. The role involves managing patient flow, performing vital signs, and assisting with EKGs and injections while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma, MA certification within six months, and BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in physician office or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office.
• Maintains HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth operations.
