Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in hospital, primary care, emergency department, or urgent care OR MA certifications within 12 months: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA
• Nursing/LPN/EMT/Paramedic background also qualifies at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
• CPOE certification required within 2 weeks if MA certification is not obtained at hire

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
