Job summary

UPMC | GoHealth Urgent Care in Westmoreland County, PA is hiring Medical Assistants to support urgent care centers. The role requires completing clinical tasks accurately and delivering an effortless patient experience aligned with our care culture.

You will register patients, verify insurance, schedule, prepare exams, take vital signs, and assist providers. Minimum 1 year MA experience and various MA certifications are encouraged; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; MA certs OR LPN/LVN graduate within 12 months.
• At least 1 year MA experience in hospital, primary care, ED or urgent care.
• Current BLS certification required; CPOE cert or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Take vital signs and assist with procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms and medical records.
• Coordinate referrals and answer patient questions.
