Aurora Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time role in our ambulatory care team. The position involves supporting providers, welcoming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with exams in a clinic setting.

We offer a part-time schedule with 24 hours per week, typically three days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care and teamwork within a dynamic oncology-focused clinic.

Qualifications

• Licensure: MA or LPN as applicable; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 45 days unless waived by leadership.
• GED or HS equivalency is required.
• LPN: advanced training beyond high school in practical nursing; MA: completed accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required within 45 days where indicated.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care in the electronic health record accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality care.

Education

GED or HS Equivalency Diploma

LPN program completion

MA: Completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant

2 years verifiable full-time MA experience
