Job summary

Texas Spine Consultants is currently seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our pain management practice at the Midlothian Clinic. This part-time role (3 days a week) supports clinicians, may include scribe duties, and offers a collaborative team environment with competitive compensation and benefits.

As Medical Assistant you will take patient histories, assist with exams, prepare supplies, manage rooms, and document results.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant with at least 1 year of experience.
• Scribe experience is a plus.
• Experience in a medical office setting is required.
• Experience in pain management is preferred.
• Relevant clinical experience of 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet patients.
• Scribe for the provider during visits.
• Perform general nursing tasks following established standards and procedures.
• Take patient histories and measures vital signs.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies.
• Document care plans and exam results in the chart.
• Schedule procedures with ASC centers.
• Escalate non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Answers phones.
• Scribing for the provider.
• Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
• Greets patients and takes them back to rooms.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patient's charts.
• May be required to collect urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list.
• Filling out procedure consents.
• Schedules patients for their special procedures with the ASC centers.
• Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record.
• Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Physician.
