Job summary

Texas Spine Consultants is currently seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to become part of our pain management practice. This part-time role is based at the Midlothian clinic with a three-day schedule (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and includes responsibilities as a medical scribe.

The successful candidate will take patient histories, assist with examinations, prepare and maintain medical supplies, and support providers to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant with 1 year of experience required.
  • Scribe experience is a plus.
  • Medical office experience required.
  • Pain management experience preferred.
  • Relevant healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and greet patients in a clinical setting.
  • Scribe for the provider during visits.
  • Perform general nursing care following established standards.
  • Take patient histories and record vital signs.
  • Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies.
  • Schedule procedures with ASC centers and document results.
  • Escalate non-routine issues to Office Manager or Physician.
  • Support clinical operations and patient care daily.

Essential Functions
  • Answers phones.
  • Scribing for the provider.
  • Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greets patients and takes them back to rooms.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patient's charts.
  • May be required to collect urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list.
  • Filling out procedure consents.
  • Schedules patients for their special procedures with the ASC centers.
  • Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record.
  • Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Physician.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant: 1 year (Required)
  • Scribe Experience is a Plus
  • Medical office: 2 years (Required)
  • Pain Management: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Relevant: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
