Job summary

Texas Spine Consultants is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our pain management practice. The role includes scribe duties and support for clinical operations, focusing on patient history, examinations, and procedure preparation to ensure high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, 1+ year relevant healthcare experience, and is comfortable in a fast-paced clinical setting. This part-time position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Scribe experience is a plus.
• Medical office experience required (2+ years).
• Pain management experience preferred (2+ years).
• Relevant healthcare experience required (1+ year).
• Certified Medical Assistant credential required.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones.
• Scribing for the provider.
• Performs general nursing care to patients following established standards.
• Greets patients and escorts them to rooms.
• Interviews patients, records vital signs and charts.
• Collects urine samples and prepares specimens for lab analysis (if required).
• Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list.
• Fills out procedure consents.
• Schedules patients for procedures with ASC centers.
• Documents care plans, tests and results in the medical record.
• Escalates non-routine issues to Office Manager or Physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patient's charts.
• May be required to collect urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list.
• Filling out procedure consents.
• Schedules patients for their special procedures with the ASC centers.
• Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record.
• Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Physician.
