Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant at Saint Joseph East in Lexington, KY. You will support clinicians by preparing patient charts, greeting patients, and ensuring up-to-date information for those seen in the facility.

Daily duties include vital signs, completing blood draws when needed, assisting with diagnostic testing, and maintaining clean exam rooms per protocol.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs and other information such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Assist with scheduling patients for diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion of testing.
• Assist with preparing, cleaning and sterilizing instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.
