Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support care teams with screenings, clinical procedures, health education, and administrative coordination.

You will collect vital signs, assist with procedures, administer vaccines or medications as ordered, and help coordinate care for diverse patients while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered service. This role emphasizes teamwork and ongoing learning within CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group network.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CMA certification from relevant organization required at hire or upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications and presenting problems.
• May collect urine drug specimens and draw blood for lab analysis.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered via various routes.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.
Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• May be required to collect urine drug specimens, draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and /or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and /or nasal administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs.
