Job summary

CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group in Lexington, KY is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support care teams with screenings, procedures, education, and administrative coordination. You will ensure compassionate patient interactions and accurate data capture using healthcare technology, contributing to efficient care delivery.

The role requires CMA credentials, completion of an accredited MA program, and BLS CPR.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED upon hire
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program upon hire
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) upon hire
• Certifications: AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) within 14 days

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by established standards.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, resp, height, weight, allergies, meds).
• May collect urine drug specimens and draw blood for lab analysis.
• Administer medications and vaccines via multiple routes.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.
Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to collect urine drug specimens, draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and /or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and /or nasal administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs.
