Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Group in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support the care team and coordinate patient care across screenings, procedures, education, and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate has certified CMA credentials, strong clinical knowledge, comfort with technology, compassion, and a collaborative, learning-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold CMA credentials.
  • Certification in medical assisting is required at hire or soon after.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem.
  • May collect urine drug specimens, draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic or nasal routes.
  • May perform routine tests including EKGs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or

  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
  • Two year medical assistant experience
