Job summary

CalOptima Health seeks a Medical Assistant (PACE) to join the PACE- Clinic team in California. The role involves direct participant care, injections, tests, and clerical support under clinic supervision.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant certification, CPR/First Aid, and 3 years in care for frail or elderly populations. Telework may be approved within state constraints and the position is fully office-based.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent PLUS 3 years of work experience with the frail or elderly population.
• CPR and First-Aid Certification required or must be obtained within six months of date of hire.
• Experience in a medical office or hospital within the last 3 years.
• Bilingual in English and one of CalOptima Health's threshold languages (Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese).
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct participant care and routine procedures.
• Administer injections, perform tests (glucometer, urine dip), phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
• Schedule routine/follow-up appointments and manage charting/records.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and support front office duties.
