Shriners Children's in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Assistant, Outpatient to support physicians and nurses with examinations, procedures, and treatments, including minor surgery, wound care, and casting.

You'll perform basic lab tests, administer medications, manage patient flow and appointments, document in the EHR, prepare rooms, and educate patients on plans and home care. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in outpatient clinical settings preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, procedures, and treatments, including minor surgical procedures, wound care, and casting/splinting.
• Perform basic laboratory tests with specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician, following the five rights.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and home care instructions.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and assist with referrals.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and patient records.
• Prepare examination rooms, stock supplies, and ensure equipment readiness.
• Greet and escort patients, take vital signs, and document medical history.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
