Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Philadelphia outpatient clinic. The MA will support physicians and nurses with examinations, procedures, and treatments, while handling specimen collection, wound care, and patient education.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This role supports the efficient operation of the clinic, ensuring a positive patient experience and adherence to established medical protocols. **Key Responsibilities*** Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, including minor surgical procedures, wound care, and casting/splinting. Perform basic laboratory tests as directed, including specimen collection, processing, and documentation.* Administer medications as directed by a physician, adhering to the five rights of medication administration. Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and home care instructions.* Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and assist with referral coordination.
