Job summary

The Toledo Clinic's Orthopedic Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care and administrative duties. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, at the main campus in Toledo, OH, with training to perform clinical and administrative MA duties.

Qualified candidates must hold an MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or obtain one within 60 days. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered, payable within 30 days of hire when credentials are active and verified;

Qualifications

• MA credential such as CMA, RMA, CCMA or able to obtain within 60 days.
• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
• Experience in clinical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for physician visits and exam rooms; sterilize instruments.
• Handle clerical duties: phones, scheduling, chart management.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for visits.
• Call in prescription refills as requested by physician.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up with lab work and/or X-rays.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Toledo Clinic's Orthopedic Department, Glass City Orthopaedic & Spine Center, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA). This position will work Monday-Friday (8-5) and be trained to perform both clinical and administrative MA duties. Qualified candidates will have an MA credential such as the RMA, CMA, CCMA or be able to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager

1.Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).

2.Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).

3.Escorting patients to exam room.

4.Preparing exam rooms.

6.Sterilizing and preparing instruments.

7.At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.

8.Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.

9.Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.

11.Other duties as assigned.

Required:

- Excellent interpersonal skills required.

- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.

- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA)

Education:

-Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
