Position: Medical Assistant - Clinic

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Provider, performs patient care services, assists the Provider and other medical staff with patient visits and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. May also perform front desk duties, including telephone work, patient scheduling, and ordering supplies. If applicable, responsibilities include phlebotomy, such as blood, urine, and culture specimen collection and processing.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or active certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant required
• Six months of previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Current CPR certification required; TB certification may be required for some offices
• Basic understanding of medical documentation and terminology; accurate recording skills
• Organizational skills focused on patient care tracking and flow improvement
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and stay calm in stressful situations
• Completion of annual skill validation, safety, and infection control procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, physicians, and staff
