Position: Medical Assistant - Clinic

Location: Hobart

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Provider, performs patient care services, assists the Provider and other medical staff with patient visits and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. May also perform front desk duties, including telephone work, patient scheduling, and supply ordering. If applicable, responsibilities include phlebotomy, such as collecting and processing specimens like blood, urine, pap smears, and cultures.

Education/Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or active current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant required.
  • Six months of previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required; TB certification may be required for some offices.
  • Basic understanding of medical documentation and terminology, with accurate recording skills.
  • Strong organizational skills focused on patient care tracking and flow improvement.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Completion of annual skill validation, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
