Salary Range: $20.52 - $25.94, Hourly

Job Overview:

This position is located at our JCMC outpatient Orthopedic Clinic. The Medical Assistant facilitates patient and family movement through the clinic, prepares patients and records for exams, manages and documents medical records, and assists clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current BLS Healthcare License
• Successful completion of all Orientation Program requirements

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized training center

Essential Functions:

• Maintain open communication with patients, staff, and physicians, demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and confidentiality
• Answer phones professionally, direct calls appropriately, and document messages accurately
• Assist with patient chart preparation, updates, and review of test results and dictations
• Support consenting and processing research patients
• Prepare patient charts for consultations and exams, file and secure them appropriately
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality in interactions
• Monitor and stock exam rooms
• Participate in mandatory evaluations and competency assessments
• Manage patient charts for follow-up calls and prescription refills
• Perform duties as requested by physicians, nurses, or managers
• Prepare exam rooms and patients for physician examinations, including vital signs and escorting patients
• Secure desk coverage during absences
• Present diagnostic results and perform other related duties

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 40 hours/week
