Job description

Medical Assistant – Schaumburg – Orthopaedics


  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week

  • Hours: Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am‑4:30 pm

  • Location: Schaumburg; Glen Ellyn on Fridays

  • Travel: Expected to travel to other clinics for coverage as needed (Bloomingdale clinic as/when needed)

Responsibilities


  • Greet patients and assist with registration and scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history

  • Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures

  • Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections

  • Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing

  • Conduct onsite lab testing (EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests)

  • Maintain clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits

  • Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values

  • Travel to assist other local clinics may be required



Qualifications


  • High‑school diploma or GED required

  • Completion of an accredited medical‑assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences, or related experience required

  • Active medical‑assistant certification required for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice (American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA))

  • CPR certification required, or willing to become certified upon hire

  • May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire

  • 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT, or related patient‑care role



Compensation: Base pay range $21.43–23.63 per hour for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistants receive a base pay range of $22.97–24.57. Actual pay is determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is a portion of the total rewards package.
