Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with 160-hour externship, OR one year clinical MA experience in the past five years, OR current MA certification with one year clinical MA experience, OR LPN or EMT with related clinical experience, OR military medical personnel with clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories.
• Measure and record vital signs and prepare patients for exams.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures to ensure comfort and safety.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
