Medical Assistant - Oral Surgery - Full Time

Location: Detroit, MI

1. Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
2. Assist with treatments ordered by the physician as supervised by a physician or registered nurse.
3. Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
4. Perform basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
5. Manage supplies by ordering and stocking materials.
6. Document diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
7. Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Certification/Licenses

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant certification obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer date preferred.

Education/Experience Required

• High School diploma or equivalency, or 1 year of relevant job-specific experience.
