Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking an LPN/MA to support RNs and physicians in ambulatory care. You will provide direct patient care, perform procedures within your demonstrated competencies, and care for patients from newborns to seniors in a fast-paced clinic.

Eligible candidates hold LPN licensure in MN or WI or Medical Assistant certification/registration; CMA apprenticeship may apply with certification within six months. BCLS must be obtained within three months.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
• Registration or certification as a Medical Assistant, or CMA apprentice status.
• CMA apprentice hired after 7/1/26 must complete MA program and certify within 6 months.
• BCLS certification within 3 months (not required for some registry roles).

Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated. Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in appropriate state, i.e. Minnesota, Wisconsin, OR current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR Verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified withinone year of date of hire. (Must pass certification withintwo attempts), OR if Essentia Health trained CMA Apprentice must have completion of Medical Assistant Program and become certified within 6 months of transfer. (applicable to any CMA apprentice hired after 7/1/26)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.(Department 46680 – Registry Management Team: BCLS certification is not required)
