Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL, seeks a Medical Assistant or LPN for a full-time, in-person position. You will assist providers with examinations, manage patient histories, labs, and EMR documentation, and ensure OSHA/CLIA compliance.

Candidates must have MA certification or active license, and may qualify with EMT/NREMT/Paramedic credentials; HS diploma required. BayCare offers extensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or active license/certification required within 6 months of hire.
• LPN license or EMT/NREMT/Paramedic credentials accepted as alternatives to MA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatment.
• Maintains patient histories and handles routine lab procedures and specimen preparation.
• Follows up on test orders, reports results, and provides patient education materials.
• Maintains and updates patient EMR.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all OSHA and CLIA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date or proof of active license/certification.
• Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician)
• Or Paramedic
• Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
• Required High School or Equivalent
• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
